This is the beach I was heading towards when I painted "Parc, Mèze" and "Harbour, Mèze". A tiny beach at Mèze near Sète in the South of France, looking out towards the Mediterranean across the Etang. It's baking hot, the lagoon is warm and oily with salt and you can smell the oysters growing on the oyster beds.
