This was painted in the mid to late 1980s during my Elvis Costello period. Music plays a very important part in my work I use it to get me through different stages of a painting. There are a couple of photos of Elvis on the wall as well as his music playing on the stereo. Maybe the Costello connection explains the angry look it certainly explains the hair.
